Nicholas Leenheers - Physiotherapist/pilates instructor
Nick completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours at Monash University in 2012. Nick has continued his professional development and is currently undertaking a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy at Latrobe University, which will be completed in 2019.
Alongside an extensive history working in private practice, Nick is currently the head physiotherapist at Dandenong City Soccer Club in the National Premier League (NPL). He has a passion for assisting patients with a variety of musculoskeletal pain problems and sport injuries, particularly problems which relate to overload, or those which are recurring in nature.
Nick has considerable experience in the use of exercise for rehabilitation and performance enhancement, particularly with adolescent athletes. This stems from his current involvement with the Rowville Sports Academy and past involvement with the SMASH longterm athletic development academy – a program that assists young athletes to reach their athletic potential and achieve their personal sporting goals.
He is also a part-time academic at Monash University, assisting to teach the Physiotherapy curriculum, with ambitions to design and conduct a research project investigating injury in adolescent athletes in the near future.
Nick still manages to pull the boots on, playing local Aussie Rules in the EFL. In his spare time he loves to travel and eat good food.
